Symphony orchestras all over the US are preparing spooktacular Halloween concerts with scary music and activities for the kids. Below, you'll find a listing of these exciting Halloween classical music concerts.
1. Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra
Oct. 23, 2009 - 7:00 PMFeaturing music from Harry Potter, Maestron Andrew Sewell will host the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's annual Halloween concert. Arrive at 5:45 PM for free activities and story telling.
2. Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Oct. 24, 2009 - 3:00 PMThis year's "Hallowed Haunts" Halloween concert will be conducted by Stuart Chafetz and narrated by Sheri Williams Pannell. With music from both classical composers and film composers, children and adults alike will have a great time.
3. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Oct. 25, 2009 - 1:30 PM, 3:30 PMThe Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will host its annual "freight-fest." This Halloween concert is so popular, they have to schedule two concerts!
4. Austin Symphny Orchestra
Oct. 25, 2009 - 2:00 PMThis child-friendly Halloween concert will feature spooky music along with children's favorite stories like Peter and the Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Wizard of Oz. And, of course, costume wearing is encouraged!
5. Dallas Symphony
Oct. 25, 2009 - 2:30 PMWith an animal theme at this year's Halloween family concert, you'll here Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens. The concert will also feature a reading of Ogden Nash's poetry, as well as the The Town Musicians of Bremen by composer Simon Sargon. Come early for the costume contest!

7. Oregon Symphony
Oct. 25, 2009 - 2:00 PMAnother animal theme, you'll hear Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals, Rossini's Cat Duet, and Beethoven's Creatures of Prometheus Overture at the Oregon Symphony.
8. Redwood Symphony
Oct. 30, 2009 - 7:00 PMBoth children and adults can wear costumes to this Halloween concert. With music by Gounod, Mussorgsky, Rodriquez, and Hayman, you're sure to hear great music.
9. US Naval Academy Music Department
Oct. 31, 2009 - 8:00 PMFeaturing a performance by Monte Maxwell, Chapel Organist, you'll hear a variety of organ works, as well as music from other genres. The concert promises fantastic dance and light shows, special effects, and memorable performances.
10. Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles
Oct. 31, 2009 - 8:00 PMThe popular tradition of silent horror film with live organ soundtrack returns to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. This year's silent film is Nosferatu and will be accompanied by Clark Wilson on the organ.
