Guide Review - The Altec Lansing FX6021 with InConcert™ technology 2.1 Speaker System

Technology and Design

Altec Lansing, a well established and trusted name in the industry, has developed InConcert™ technology. The effect is that you get pure, crisp, full-volume sound directed straight at you and side to side, rather than being reflected off your ceiling and floor (up and down). Each satellite speaker holds six 1 inch neodymium micro drivers, with each pair of micro drivers powered by it's own amplifier. Unlike older subwoofers where the bass sounds muddled or foggy, the FX6021 subwoofer delivers clear, powerful, full frequency bass.

Don't be fooled by the picture, the satellite speakers are 14.4 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, 1 inch deep when wall mounted and 7.5 inches deep when attached to the speaker base. The subwoofer's dimensions are 8.5"(w) x 7.9"(d) x 16"(h).

Setup

Setup for the Altec Lansing FX6021 with InConcert™ technology 2.1 Speaker System is a breeze. Trying to keep the area free of clutter from plastic wrap and twist ties is what's challenging. What's great about this speaker system is it's versatility. You have two options: 1) you can keep the satellite speakers on your desk or 2) mount them to the wall. The subwoofer can sit just about anywhere, as long as it's not within 3 feet of your monitor or hard drive (the subwoofer magnet is not shielded and can distort/damage your computer equipment).
