Macabre Masterpieces

Naxos
Macabe Masterpieces is a collection of darkly-themed classical works by Mussorgsky, Grieg, Liszt, Dvorak, Berlioz, and more. Its colorful music often depicts stories of witches, goblins, trolls, werewolves, and ghosts, making it a perfect album to play for Halloween. (Finally, someone has put together a compilation of classical music I've suggested for Halloween on a two-disk album.)

As with all "mix" CDs, there's a certain amount of skepticism involved when it comes to whether or not the recordings will be shoddy. After listing to the album, I am happy to report that the performances and sound quality are top-notch. I would definitely recommend adding this album to your collection.
