Guide Review - Poetic Inspirations: Works for Oboe, Viola, & Piano
I applaud the virtuosic performances of Alex Klein (oboe), Richard Young (viola), and Ricardo Castro (piano). When performers have mastered their instruments such as these three men, what you get is the perfect expression of the music. The mechanics and techniques of playing the instrument disappear, and the music and its emotions become amazingly apparent. Bravo!
As I said before, the music was composed by several men whose names you may not know. Don't let that deter you from purchasing this album. Their music is truly sublime. From the gentle sweeping phrases of Klughardt's Schilflieader to the energetic movements of Hindemith's Trio for Viola, Heckelphone, and Piano, the entire album has perfectly blended the contrasting pieces into one cohesive work of art.
