A Synopsis of Gounod's Faust

With a libretto based on the famous three part tragedy by Goethe, Gounod's opera, Faust, is a haunting tale of good and evil.  I have yet to see Faust, even though it's one of the most performed operas at the Met, so reading the synopsis of Faust was quite enjoyable.  I may just have to make a trip to the theater on December 10, when the Met will broadcast it live as part of its wonderful Live in HD performances.
