Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57

Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57 is a beautiful piano piece that I've been listening to a lot lately.  Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57, is a moderately paced work for solo piano composed between 1833 and 1834.  "Berceuse" is a French word that translates to "lullaby," and just as its title suggests, the piece is sweet and gentle.  Ashkenazy's performance is by far my favorite as his speed and execution of the notes are ideal.  If you've not heard Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57, you're in for a real treat.

Listen to a YouTube recording of Ashkenazy's performance of Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57.

Hi,

Thank you for this post. It is indeed a beautiful peace of music, which tells something about the author s sensibility. By the way, a small thing: it was composed in the winter of 1843 to 1844. Chopin published it in 1845.

Vladimir Ashkenazy’s performance is also my favorite.

Cheers,
