Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians is one of our lifetime's defining pieces of music. You either love it or you don't. If you are unfamiliar with the work, here is a YouTube video that will introduce you to the famous piece of music. This is my first exposure to the music, but its repetition is actually very appealing to me, like it could induce a trance. I, for one, am tempted to go out and pick up a recording.

I felt the urge to weep while watching the video. The music interwoven with the story was compelling. It made me wish I was one of the performers working on the piece.
