This Sunday at the Apollo

Saturday March 29, 2008
If you live in New York City or are just visiting, you probably know there are hundreds, if not thousands, of musical events and concerts everyday. Which ones to attend is the difficult question. Here's one answer for you: this Sunday at the historic Apollo Theater, a family concert will take place at 4:00 PM featuring the works by Scott Joplin, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Bruce Adolph. Bruce Adolph's Purple Palace, composed in 1955, is a musical story narrated by actress Melanie Nicholls-King (The Wire, How She Move). Other works include Joplin's The Strenuous Life; The Entertainer, Taylor's Othello Suite, op. 79, and Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme. For more information including ticket sales, visit The Apollo Theater.
