The St. Olaf Choir - Classical Music Profile

Sunday December 31, 2006
I love listening to choral music, however, I've found that there are too many choral recordings where one part over powers another or ending consonants are lost in a sea of sound. When I'm searching for something new, I almost always gravitate towards music by the St. Olaf Choir. I can trust that the performance will be well balanced, articulate, and musical. How did the St. Olaf Choir become synonymous with quality? Because the choir's founder, F. Melius Christiansen wanted no less than perfect, and the subsequent directors never strayed from the narrow path. Learn about the St. Olaf Choir's history in this interesting profile.
