Hear the World Foundation

Tuesday November 28, 2006
Last weekend, Placido Domingo announced his latest partnership with Phonak. The Hear the World Foundation, initiated by Phonak (a company specializing in the development and manufacturing of high-tech hearing devices), was created to raise awareness about hearing loss and to offer advanced hearing technology to underdeveloped countries. Beginning in January with a $400,000 budget, their first goal is to educate the public about hearing aids, their accompanying social stigma, and the emotional loss of not being able to hear.

I think it would be an excellent idea if Phonak could keep people informed of how their trials on these new hearing aids are going, because at the moment you really need two different types of hearing aids one for normal speech the other for music.
