Mexican Piano Music by Manuel M. Ponce

Don't be fooled by the album's title. The music composed by Manuel M. Ponce on this album doesn't entirely sound Mexican. Ponce, born in Mexico, studied music in Mexico and Europe. His classical approach to composition reminds me of Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy. His unique style of adding Mexican folk song to the romantic period forms of classical music is refreshing.
