A Classical Movie

Monday March 28, 2005
What was the winner of 8 Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for F. Murray Abraham, Best Screenplay Adaptation for Peter Shaffer, Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Make-up and Best Sound, has a soundtrack of entirely Mozart and made in 1985?...

Amadeus of course!

Amadeus , told from the view point of an old Salieri sitting in confinement in an insane asylum, is a movie about the theory that Mozart was killed by Salieri (a not-so-famous composer of that time). Salieri did everything he could to write great music by following rules and staying proper, but the punk kid Mozart, no matter how obnoxious he was, could write magnificent music at the blink of an eye. This, of course, leads to bitterness, jealousy, Salieri's insanity and Mozart’s death.

Not only do you get a great story line, you also get a lot of Mozart's music too! This is a great movie to have if you love Mozart or want to love Mozart. So, before you rent or buy the latest release, I urge you to consider Amadeus instead.
